My favorite F : Family, Food, Fun!

 I always get thrilled when I see an old Steam Locomotive so I can imagine the journey it made, places it has been with so many people and then I wander the clothes these people used to wear, hats and suitcases...

 This train was made in the USA

A great fair called Festa das Nações was held on last Sunday and we could eat Russian, German, Japanese, Italian, Chinese and Portuguese food for a good price. I was looking for Russian food and it was delicious: the Piroshki and Dranik  that my baby boy loved trying.

 and for adults, too! Here you can see Camila and her dad having lots of fun, I remember driving this type of car when I was a child, have you ever tried before? They all drive like crazy people, I wish I could do this in real life, hehe!

 And to finish the post, the old train station at São Roque city , a very small town that we love to visit on weekends and it´s famous for the winery and fantastic nature scenery surrounded by trees, mountains and great restaurants.

Gifts, gifts and more gifts!

 My brother has arrived from Japan some days ago and he met my dad that sent us so many gifts, food stuff, especially things to help me make Sushi, yay! And he sent a set for me and my daughter so she can learn how to make them. Well, I confess, first of all, I have to learn how to make it , hehe!

 Oh, and these ones : The stuffed dog , his name is Gromit was a gift from my brother to Camila and my dad sent her some more food for my daughter. She LOVES these Japanese yummy food!

 My gift was this book catalogue with a Handbag and a purse by Cath Kidston, I can´t believe it now it´s in my hands, or better say, on my shoulder, I simply love it! And the Ahmad Tea and Paddington Bear came from England from my brother.

 And here at home, baby César playing with my phone, he still doesn´t say a word... just some "sounds" ...

 And for breakfast I´ve been making Pancakes along with  bananas and our favorite topping: Maple Syrup , see the cute Winnie the Pooh jar? This was a gift from Andrea, my dear sister when we went to Japan and she bought it at Tokyo Disneyland for Camila.

And for a cold almost winter afternoon sometimes I make a coffee with cinnamon powder and "brigadeiro" that goes so well along with coffee!! Brigadeiro is a brazilian sweet made basically with condensed milk and cocoa powder , sooo good and it´s always kid´s parties favorite. It´s just hard not to eat more than one...

And thank you for coming here again, you mean a lot to me, really!

Moments of the week ( last week)

 We had beautiful warm days last week and I could take baby César outside , watch him playing with small things of nature, breathe some cool air, touch and feel new textures like grass, feel the warmth of the sun, look at the blue sky... so good to be surrounded by nature.

 Meanwhile ::
Camila had a great time with her school mates when they went to Pinacoteca do Estado ( a famous Museum in São Paulo city) to learn more about artist Alberto Giacometti and on their way she took our small Pentax digital camera and took some shots as you see below.

This is a beautiful old train station called Estação da Luz and if you come to São Paulo, this is a must see attraction for the amazing interior architecture constructed at the end of 19th century for the São Paulo Railway company ( an English origin company) that nowadays holds a Portuguese Language Museum and of course, it still is a train station.

Through the  eyes of a child, I like to see these shots!

And near our home, we had a special guest, can you find it?  Yes, a beautiful toucan came to pick some fruits and then suddenly we saw more toucans around!!

And after the rain we can see wonderful webs like this, from my bedroom window , I just can think how amazing life is and thank to nature for everyday beauty that surrounds us.

Birthday celebration

 Now I´m 42 , my birthday was last week ( May , 15th) and since then I have been surrounded by flowers , sweet messages, gifts and lovely moments!

 Have I told you that I kind of "collect " all kind of ribbons? Yes, I love the texture, its color and the possibility of reusing them , too.

 I can also decorate my fridge, how about that?  The pretty penguin was a gift from Sinhana, my dear talented crafty friend!

 Now to the food ::

My brother made an entire "Birthday Package" for me on that day , he cooked carefully my favorite food, paella, from Jamie Oliver´s recipe book! He also bought this beautiful and yummy birthday cake, too . Thank you Lucas, you are such a brother!

 I also have to tell you my love for Pyrex dishes, well, this one above is a Brazilian version that was made in the 60´s  ~ 70´s and every house had at least one set of this beautiful ware.
When I went to my mother in law´s house , she and my sisters in law gave me an entire collection they had in their cupboard and I confess, for me, this was one of the best present I got so far!!

And this was our dinner time celebration with my dearest family. I am so grateful for this funny, full of love  , supportive and smiling family, especially my dear patient husband!! I  love you!
And for all the blog readers, thank you for the kind comments on Facebook, e mails and so on and so forth, you make my day, really!!

Weekending

 Camila had her first experience "driving" this mini kart and that was so exciting that now she wants to go back to try again.
 Her cousin just reminded her to make  the right turn !

 And little brother got so amazed by the sound of the karts and the speedway.
 Oh, and we visited a fantastic event held in a Shopping Center in São Paulo , old toys museum! I love these stuff, take a look, doesn´t it bring you good old memories?

 I used to listen to these children´s stories...

These were called FOFOLETE in Portuguese, I don´t know if you had these tiny little dolls in your childhood. I remember my mom gave me one when she travelled somewhere and she brought to me and I kept it for a long time and carried it with me wherever I went.

 Topo Gigio, there was a TV program , so cute!

 Here you can see Acquaplay that my friends had , Espirograf which was so fun to draw ...

Genius: I wanted this one but it was too expensive so I didn´t have this toy in my childhood , now we can play on the cell phone!

So, is there something else that you really loved playing when you were a kid? I remember the day I got a doll called Bochechinha, it was a Santa´s present and that Christmas night is the one that I can´t forget for the big excitement and joy I felt as a child...  good old times...

Ordinary days

 My desk is in the living room and in front of it I have this place I put all my collection of postcards from the Postcrossing Swap. It´s so exciting now because my little girl has subscribed herself and she´s received her first postcard with Winnie the Pooh on it!

 And in the same living room we share spaces like my baby boy that has his own toy box which I like so much playing with him for the lively colors , books to read and handmade shaking stuff.

 In the rainy afternoon we eat some bread with butter that melts in the mouth, yummy!

 And before going to bed, one picture for mama, please!

 and in the morning, the first thing this baby boy wants to do is to go play the piano, grandma will be so proud of him!!

When we are together...

Sometimes we can se beautiful flowers just around the corner like these ones we found out near our house. They are everywhere and when I´m in a hurry I even don´t notice but when I want to really see what´s happening at the present time I see the beauty everywhere!

Yellow and green, the colors of our Brazilian flag, I love that!

Last week I met personally a lovely blogger friend Shi and then she told me about these places to visit and today I decided to go with my husband and the kids, we really love exploring new lands!!

This is a perfect place for kids , Fazendinha Santa Adélia, you can just lay down on the grass or take a walk and see some pretty animals like rabbits and sheep or poneys... Play at the playground where Camila absolutely loved this one.

And this day couldn´t be more perfect for me: trains !!! Did I tell you that I have a special crush on trains of all kinds? It was thrilling to see this at the end of our short trip on our way back home. Oh, and thank you Shi, your tips are so very welcome, we will keep exploring on our free days!!
The day has ended with our hearts full of joy and contentment especially because we spent this Friday together.

Good old times

Sunday morning, beautiful sunny day and it´s almost Autumn down here but it still feels like summer, the idea of staying home was great but going out somewhere with the kids sounded even better so we decided to go to São Paulo city and a very great spot was MASP , one of the most important art museum of this town and under its building there is the Antique Fair that I used to go when I was a teenager.

We could see so many interesting things and I loved this giraffe´s bag, so cute! And then, look at this woman´s outfit, doesn´t she look amazing? Well , let me explain this to you guys, there was some Clowns´ Parade at Paulista Avenue and I ´m sure she was part of it!

Look now at this amazing old toy, for Disney character lovers!

When I was born my dad was working at a toy´s factory called Metalma and there they used to make this kind of metal toys , this brought me some great memories of my childhood.

And my daughter was now looking at these "vintage" toys!

These ones reminds me my older brothers!

This old gramophone is something! It still works out and the sound is amazing!

On the other side of the street we could see the craft fair and we took a quick walk because Camila was a little tired because she woke up very early this morning. There were whimsical decoration pieces like these colorful baloons!

And talented painters with dramatic colors, these are Ypê flowers paintings , they are very common in Brazil and I love the yellow ones that are amazingly beautiful!
And this was my favorite one: Trains and Sunflowers! I love them both and this painter is so very talented, too, don´t you think?
So, after a very busy week, this quick tour to São Paulo city was quite comforting for me and my family for the moments we spent together. This was such a perfect Sunday!
