Crafting !

Inoui is the perfume I love and use since I don´t know, when I was 20, 25?? And I still love its aroma, so I´ve put this one on Camila´s heart!

This little doll came from Flor de Maracuja and now it has a heart beside her! with my M! Red, everything is red in this corner!

Making of Camila´s heart!

Making of Mayumi´s heart! It was supposed to be a secret but I´m not good at it, i just wanted to show how it is , on this photo... curious????

Oh my, finally I could sit and open a book , specifically Stitched in Time from Alicia Paulson and decide what to make for this weekend. It has to be quick and funny so I chose this little heart that´s adorable because it can be used in many ways, in the drawer as a sachet because I´ve put some perfume on it or hang it at the curtain or at any corner of your house! It has a pretty ric rac on it, too! I love ric racs!

So I did the first one for myself and then I decided to make two, one for my daughter and another for the dearest girl that lives in Japan with my "sister" , I hope she likes it!

Camila is out , she went to Parque da Monica with her uncle and aunt so I could finish all of them right now! Yay!!!!!Good, I´m happy for these little ones!!!!

It´s raining and I like that, it makes me feel lazy, I just wanna go to my couch and read some good book and boy, I have many of them to choose from!

Have a nice week everyone!

Still summer

Old tiles decorate the plant vases, I love these blue colors and the colonial style that is so unique.

Our friend M. called us because we haven´t met for a long time since last year and we went to her beautiful house surrounded by high old Palm Trees, cozy chairs, a pool and an amazing silence. We couldn´t even imagine we were in the middle of São Paulo city.

Waiting for the other friends to come and celebrate this wonderful season ( maybe the end of it) , Sunday is a good day to meet old friends...

Sunday means Pasta and Salad lunch! Yummy , weeeeee!!!! and it was sooo delicious, we ate a lot, really a lot!

This friend of mine´s gorgeous house is surrounded by the nature, amazing flowers with fantastic colors everywhere...

Kids playing: lots of laughter, happiness and friendship! I love to see these wee ones so close and playing together ...

When I think back to three years ago when we went to this house with our babies I can still remind their first steps, they didn´t even talk , they were using diapers and they needed more attention that we didn´t even had a chance to sit down. Then today, I just stopped for a moment and looked at them, grown up and still making these moments so nostalgic.

These are the much-treasured times with our friends I want to keep in my heart, I hope some day my daughter reads it and keeps in her mind that this is what it´s all about, this sight of true friendship that fills our souls , gratitude and hope.

And I want to thank M. for letting us share this day together and for opening her house for such a kind , smooth, unforgettable afternoon.

May your week be full of much love , special moments and gratitude!

Autumn inspiration

As Autumn approaches it feels something nostalgic and comforting, the sunlight outside is different and so beautiful and I think it´s such a beautiful season that brings brown, bronze colors back to my life, my work, my home.
A new project, a mini quilt that will be hung on the door of my new sewing studio saying: "Welcome" and it has some autumn leaves and a bird on the bottom. I´m pretty excited making this because I loved the color and the design of the fabrics , I´ve just finished embroidering it . I´ll finish quilting and batting on Monday at my second "patchwork and sewing class".
Oh, and let me show you my sewing box, messy and full of treasures I adore!!!
I wish I could stay home today, just organizing my sewing stuff to move to the other place and playing with my kid but probably it won´t be possible because of the thousand things we have next week and tomorrow...at least we can dream, can´t we?
Wishing you all the good things for this weekend, take a nap or cook with your family and friends, read a book, have a cup of coffee, if you can a Starbucks Coffee and think about me while doing it!

A different sky

Today our neighbor left to another city because they´re getting old and their son called them to live closer. It´s a sad feeling today, they are such a nice couple that always have a smile on their faces, their son studied with my brother and they lived here for a long, long time.
They went to our wedding, they knew Camila since she was born and today they said goodbye to her.
I don´t know if it ´s my feeling today or it´s the March´s sunlight outside that´s quite different and smooth today but it´s a beautiful day, a little sad but still tender.
I will miss their everyday "ohayoooo" ( good morning in Japanese) and the conversations we used to have at anytime of the day...

Friends

We are friends from childhood and we have so many beautiful things to remember... And from now on, I´ll still keep this treasure and tell my daughter how special it is to have a good friend...

Everyday treasure, read her mail in my box, telling her adventures and her daily life with her dear ones , I love reading those words!

Talking about everyday treasures, there are some small details in my life that I adore like taking Camila to the English classes and the talk we have on the way to the school. The good thing is that it´s a little bit further so we have more time to share together. And then she tells about her thoughts, feelings, friends, teachers, dreams and jokes! I cherish every minute of the moment we are together as she grows up every day.

She doesn´t have a crib anymore, she sleeps without diapers, she eats by herself, she plays alone, but at night, she likes to be on our bed until she falls asleep because we pray together and that brings her peace and she can sleep with the angels... I love you so, Camila!

Making toys

These two little girls are best friends at pre school and they always like to play together and I love these moments, when they are making art, here they are using some recycled material to make their toys. Each of them make one and then they glue or stick both toys that becomes one!

I hope their friendship lasts forever, it´s so special ...

Mornings

I love waking up early before everyone home so I can grab a cup of coffee and look at the sky and observe the birds, the insects , the bees and any sign of the nature saying good morning for each other...
It´s very very hot and I am not a fan of hot weather and summers but, there is something beautiful when we walk in the city, people are beautiful, shiny, they look happy and though I don´t drink beer I guess they long to the end of the day for that Happy Hour thing , don´t they? The sun warms our soul, keeps away the dark feelings of winter, brings happiness with a sudden rain in the afternoon washing the streets, watering the trees and flowers , yes, I like a little ...

Photograph taken in the morning... Camila wanted something fresh from the fridge, so I gave her these delicious red "goiaba" , so sweet , strong smell, soft...

Have a fresh week everyone in the Southern Hemisphere and warm days for the Northern Hemisphere readers!

Into the holidays - Day Four

Beautiful Orchids...

A cart loaded with flower boxes...

and more flowers, amazing colours!! I loved them!!!

Endives with gorgonzola cheese with nuts and crostata bread

His speciality, Beef Stew with mushrooms and shitake, fabulous lunch!!!!!

Early in the morning I went with my choir friends to Ceasa and I could admire and see lots of colorful flowers and plants. Since it´s a holiday many sellers hadn´t come today but even so, it was nice to see those kaleidoscope of reds , yellows and greens!

My brother cooked for us and the lunch was served with style , at his apartment and everything was perfect, the companionship, the drink, the laugh among five women!!! And Edu took care of Camila that gave up going to the movies and preferred staying home with him, that´s good, they just went out for lunch and they spent some time together.

It was a rainy day and now it´s fresh outside, phew!

Ken, thank you for the delicious lunch today! We are all looking forward to the next, hahaha!!!

Into the holidays - Day Three

Cacau Brasil - Chocolates

Quati at Vista Chinesa

So cute!

Hot pad brought from "Leite na pista"

Campos do Jordão - SP
We left home at 9 AM and stopped at a gas station where they serve a good breakfast, we ate some "pão de queijo" , a typical brazilian bread, delicious served with coffee in the morning.
And we had our lunch on the road, before arriving to the destination because there would be very crowded because of the Carnival holidays and very expensive too.
At Campos do Jordão we found a cozy place, a chocolaterie called Cacau Brasil and we had some delicious strawberries with chocolate , very very yummy! That was enough for us, we visited the town on foot, they sell lots of winter clothes because of the location, at the mountains... but of course we did not buy anything because it was hot at the time, we are in summer and nothing was attractive for our eyes or skin! Can you imagine buying some boots or cardigan?????
OK, I bought a pretty muffler but it was made with some cotton stuff, soooo... I´m gonna wear it in autum, a season that I love so much! But at the time I´m loving this summertime where we can walk barefoot , water the plants and feel the drops of rain on our face that freshes our soul.

Back on the road again , we stopped at an observatory called "Vista Chinesa" and we met some cute animals called Quati or Coati from the tupi language that means " Pointed Nose" , so small and calm, they were looking for food.

After that we stopped at "Leite na Pista" and as we admired the country scenario drinking a cup of coffee with a piece of tapioca cake we walked and visited the store inside this small farm and we found this amazing little piece of art, so charming and contemporary, it´s a hot pad ( or coaster) made of covered metal bottle caps, sewn all together . Oh, I have to tell you, I´ve got home so happy with this one! And the wonderful memories and times we spent today , just the three of us!

Into the holidays - Day Two

The weather forecast says no rain, beautiful day to do something outside and we went to Itu, a city near São Paulo, about 80 km from our home.
It´s a place that brings me good memories because of my father that lived there for 3 years when I was a teenager and I used to go there twice a month and I ´ve spent my summer holidays and winter holidays there, with my dad. He worked at a toy factory called Brinquedos Mimo and I loved my dad´s job , there was a little shop behind the factory where he could buy with discount and I still have one of the toys I loved most, a puppy that walks and barks called xodozinho.
We arrived at the Rancho da Picanha but there was a huge queue , we had to wait about one hour and I was starving, desperately looking for any food so we gave up staying there and drove directly to the other destination: Fazenda do Chocolate, a place we´ve been a lot of times before and it´s a very simple place located near Cabreúva city and we drive near the Tiete River which is a mess, very dirty and it´s so sad seeing that scene...
Whatever... we found good things at the farm , of course there were lots of people but it´s a big park so we could sit, eat some barbecue, give food to the fishes and Camila got a poney ride that she loved , again!
We bought some big "roscas de polvilho" and fresh eggs! Very country stuff!

But something is missing here, I´ve got to go back to eat some Picanha !!!! Not because of the meat but it´s a fine place to kids to play as well. So, maybe next week...

And we arrived home at 5:30 PM, such a wonderful day we had . Now they are asleep and so will I.
Tomorrow we have more plans to get together...

See you around!!!!!

Into the holidays - Day One

We all three woke up after eight under a beautiful blue sky and a special sun, very very bright and warm that became very hot at noon and after.

Evidence of a day making art - painting little wooden dolls that came from Casey´s Wood Products from Maine, followed by an afternoon cookie baking time and then ending with an evening dinner at my brother´s apartment where they prepared generously a delicious codfish to celebrate Camila´s birthday. Thank you both, Lucas and Clara for tonight´s wonderful evening time together!
